NEW DELHI: KL Rahul has achieved a significant milestone in his career by scoring 4,000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as an opener. The Lucknow Super Giants captain got to the landmark during the match against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday.
This accomplishment places him in an elite group of cricketers who have achieved the feat of making 4000 runs as an opener in IPL. Alongside Shikhar Dhawan, David Warner, Chris Gayle, and Virat Kohli, Rahul has demonstrated consistent performance and an ability to play big innings at the top of the batting order.

Dhawan leads the pack of openers with an impressive 6,362 IPL runs, showcasing consistent performances over the years. Warner follows closely with 5,909 runs, known for his aggressive and dynamic batting at the top of the order.

Gayle, renowned for his explosive hitting, has amassed 4,480 runs as an opener, entertaining fans with his towering sixes. Kohli has scored 4,041 runs while opening the innings, displaying his class and adaptability in various situations.
Talking about the match, Rahul (76) dug deep with Deepak Hooda (50) as Lucknow Super Giants managed a competitive 196/5 against Rajasthan Royals.
Rahul and Hooda gave LSG a solid footing with a 62-ball 115-run stand for the third wicket after early blows, but the failure of others meant the hosts could not capitalise on the hard work by the two.
Rahul's 48-ball 76 with eight fours and two sixes was his fourth fifty of the season while Hooda banished his poor string of scores to make his first big score this IPL.
