A day after they squandered the opportunity to garner full points, Indian GMs R Praggnanandhaa and Vidit Gujrathi won their sixth-round battles while 17-year-old D Gukesh held world No. 3 Hikaru Nakamura to maintain lead with the two-time challenger Ian Nepomniachtchi in the Candidates Chess tournament. Candidates Chess: GMs Dibyendu Barua and Pravin Thipsay analyse how Indian players have fared so far

Indian Grandmasters Dibyendu Barua and Pravin Thipsay are quite impressed with how the country's five-strong contingent, led by the prodigal R Praggnanandhaa, has performed so far at the prestigious Candidates chess tournament.
Elsewhere, Vidit Gujrathi settled for a draw with Nijat Abasov, securing 3.5 points to share the fifth spot with Nakamura, while Alireza climbed to the seventh spot with 2.5 points. Abasov remained at the bottom with two points.
In the women's section, R Vaishali suffered her third loss, falling to Tingjie Lei of China, while other games ended in draws.
